In addition to all the basic debt management services out there, you probably saw free debt management services, non-proffit debt management services and even Christian debt management services. While all of these offer the same basic debt management programs, the cost is different.

Free debt management services aren't really free, but some portion of the service usually is, like the first month's fees or free credit counseling. And the fees are usually significantly cheaper than regular, for-profit debt management services.

This is because they get subsidies from credit card companies that realize the value of the service they provide and tax breaks from the government since they are non-profit. Christian debt management services are usually non-profit, and they give you any kind of spiritual counseling you might need to deal with being in debt. They may even pray for you if you want.

You Get What You Pay For?

It's not like that. No matter what kind of debt management service you choose, you need to do background checks and get quotes and comparisons. Make sure they are nationally certified and accredited, make sure they have a physical street address, and it wouldn't hurt if they came recommended by the Better Business Bureau. You need to do that for any debt management company you're interested in, because just like in any other industry, there are some companies that are frauds. Do your homework and find a good one because remember--any debt management program is only as good as the debt management company that provides it.
